A Christmas Eve Prayer

Why does this time of year seem to not necessarily bring joy? Why does this time of year seem to create chaos? Depression is intensified? Loneliness is deepened? Childhood pains increased?
Is it the human birthing pains of growth? Of also being reborn during this time of Jesus Christ coming into the world?
Forgiveness seems to be a theme that keeps coming up for me and some people I'm close to.
Is it possible that we are in the season of a deeper and more complex level of forgiving? After all forgiving isn't a one and done. It's levels we peel away at.
It becomes apparent that forgiving is a ongoing activity.
How do I forgive the unforgivable as far as the world is concerned?
As a 12 Step Catholic I have steps to assist me on this journey.
Steps 4-7 the Confessional Steps are a big part of the forgiviness work.
Then 8-9 are the Forgiveness Steps.
And when we need to forgive is the second part of those steps.
How do we use this steps for those We need to forgive?
Well, we can do the Divine Mercy Chaplet daily. Asking for assistance and adding the situations, people, places we need to forgive in our intentions.
Doing Daily Rosary. Again adding intentions and for help to have the pain removed from us.
Self Care. Is also important.
Taking care of ourselves. Sleep, healthy food, medicines and or vitamins needed for the body. Relaxation and peaceful activities. Keeping ourselves from the distractions of life.
Moving the body. Sitting in Adoration. Daily Mass (even if it's only on tv). Making a list of what we can do daily for ourselves.
Staying away from those things that can trigger us.
Trying not to over do and push ourselves during these times.
All a tall order during Christmas!
The devil likes to create division, chaos, instability in us. And during Christmas Season it's easy to see it manifest.
I pray that during this Christmas Season we can all find peace, calm, unity within ourselves and with others.
And that we may truly strive for Peace on Earth through forgiveness this Christmas Eve and may we be beacons of light as we wait in anticipation of Our Savior, Jesus being born to Blessed Mother and St Joseph in a cave with the Star of Bethlehem beaming from above. In Jesus Name We Pray. Amen
May your Christmas Eve be one of peace, unity and joy!
